Kelly – Woollarah Cottage Service Coordinator

A Little About Kelly

My name is Kelly and I’m from Dublin in Ireland. My journey in education, teaching and childcare began in the UK back in 2007 where I completed a 4 year Bachelor of Education in primary teaching. Following this I worked as a primary school teacher for 2 years teaching 8-9 year olds.

After 2 years of teaching I decided I wanted to experience life a little further afield and made the move to Australia. After almost 2 years travelling Australia and engaging in a wide variety of job roles I decided to return to my passion – teaching. I started working in Active Kids, starting in the City Service, in 2015. I began my time here as assistant educator working my way up to room leader, 3IC, 2IC and acting coordinator all while completing a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

In August 2019 I took on the coordinator role at Woollahra Cottage. While I was very sad to leave my colleagues and the families and children in the City behind, I was excited for a new challenge. During my time at Woollahra I’ve established a close-knit team of educators, built strong relationships with the children and families and worked alongside both families and educators to ensure an exciting and engaging curriculum was established.

My aim is to make Woollahra Cottage an exceeding service which goes above and beyond to meet the needs of everyone in attendance and assist the children to meet their goals and developmental milestones.
