My goal as a fitness teacher is to motivate children to become more active and secure within themselves, developing Long-life values through sport and physical activities. I believe that sport benefits children development not just physically but also mentally and emotionally, this is why the purpose of my physical fitness program embraces the full development of children in a safe and inclusive environment.

As we embrace the development of children as a whole, for this second term we are focusing on providing children with a role model of good practices regarding health, nutrition and obviously physical activity. By reinforcing this model of wellbeing we aim to influence children positively, demonstrating healthy eating habits and food choices.

For this term, Tennis and basketball are going to be our focus sports, as both of them will continue to develop the children eye-hand coordination and balance. As our theme is “Nurturing our Growth” these sports will be integrated with healthy food habits, respect for diversity and self-awareness.  Also, I want to implement a sense of order at home, by introducing helpful habits that encourage tidiness and routine by having them help  collect and clean the material used at the end of each session.

In addition I look forward to implementing healthy practice of remaining hydrated by inviting and encouraging children to drink water from their water bottles during the class and while we are gathered together sitting on the mat as we usually do to close up the session.
