Our educators including our centre coordinator Kylie who has been part of the AKG family for over 15 years.. Our educators know that Early Learning occurs in environments where children feel safe, secure and protected. Your child and family will be supported in these special early years. Our centre believes that communication is the key to any partnership, educators communicate with families on their child’s daily routine, development and family life.
Our educators are passionate and Highly trained early learning professionals who’s vision is to ensure that all children feel safe and secure in their learning environments to maximum opportunities in their early years. our educators have a sound understanding of the EYLF, which equals to meaningful play-based experiences for all children that will extend and challenge their learnings.
Our age groups consist of 4 groups in total: 0 to 1 years Nursery Room One 1 to 2 years Nursery Room Two 2 to 3 years Toddler Room 3 to 5 years Preschool Room
It’s not just our children who extend their learning but our educators are always learning and increasing their own skills by taking part in professional training and work shops which are provided by AKG.
Our centre is purposely designed with five air conditioned indoor learning environments and three outdoor learning environments. Each learning environment is warm, inviting, engaging and structured to assist each individual child’s learning and development.
Our learning environments are forever changing to meet the needs and interest of the children. Our learning environments are designed to allow all children to engage in our curriculum and to take a learning journey that builds a sense of being, belonging and becoming for the children.
The learning environments allow the children to be active learners, to inspire them to take challenges, be curious and discover new learning opportunities. The environments reflect the personality of the children, families and community.
The curriculum offers each childs learning experiences that are appropriate to their stages of development, therefore promoting positive learning outcomes for all children. We follow a structured programming schedule and complete a daily online journal documenting activities and learning each day through Kindyhub.
Children are provided with a wide range of resources and materials to inspire and build their learning, natural materials, open ended resources which support and develop each child’s creativity, problem solving and physical skills.
By building quality relationships with your child, we understand who they are, their interests and style of learning to support them in a meaningful way to build children’s life experiences and to grow in to the person they are and will become.
In the 3 to 5 year preschool room we provide structured learning areas which focus on language and literacy in addition to providing a school readiness program where children are building life experiences.
The Ella program which is a fun, digital, play-based language learning program for children in NSW preschool. It helps children to become more comfortable with different languages early in life so that they can stay engaged with learning languages in later years.
Children in the ELLA program learn language through applications (‘apps’), called The Polyglots. The apps are used on tablet devices and have been specifically designed for preschool children. At AKG Mascot we are exploring Indonesian, as it is a major part of our local community.
ELLA is part of the Australian Government’s commitment to supporting language study in Australia
Our preschoolers are always busy being active members of the community where they are able to take their learning and exploring into the community on local excursions such as trips to the local supermarket, park and shops. Excursions are an important part of our learning, by stepping out into the Mascot Community it allows children to explore the world around them and feel a part of a community. Our children are provided opportunity to learn about the true owners of the land, respecting the land true owners, both past, present and future generations though hands on experiences and daily yarning circle.
We cater for all dietary requirements and our centre has a chef on site who freshly prepares the meals for all children. Our children are also active helpers in the kitchen learning about food preparing and healthly eating.
Active Kids Mascot ensures there is an open door policy for all families, which allows them to visit the service at any time. We encourage active partnerships between all educators and families to ensure that the curriculum reflects the needs of the children as well as the families within our service.
