Meet Michaela our 2IC from Narwee 0-3 years
I have been working in early childhood for the last 16 years and I have been working with Active Kids Group for 11 of those years starting my amazing journey in October 2008.
It has been a wonderful experience thus far and cannot wait to see what the future holds as every day is a new day working with little children. I always knew that I wanted to be an educator as I remember when I was just a little girl I used to line up my stuffed toys and dolls in front of me these including my grandmothers dog Bo and I would begin reading to them and singing some of my favourite songs.
Making a difference in the lives of little children is my main goal of being an educator in early childhood, seeing children grow and flourish under the guidance of my care is such a rewarding experience and from a young age I knew that influencing young children was a huge passion of mine. Early experiences and the quality of their care and relationships are crucial during this time.
My role in childcare will most definitely have an impact on a child’s entire life and to me that is most important. Being a mother of two incredible children has definitely been a challenge, but they are my biggest achievement in my life and I am so thankful for my babies Antonious and Antonella who are 5 and 2, they inspire me every day to be better person. I began my career in early childhood at just 18 years old studying my diploma in children services. As I was studying I begun working as a part time nanny for 4 years with a beautiful family of three. One of the little boy’ that I cared for had fragile x syndrome and I felt so honoured to be given the opportunity to look after such a gorgeous young boy it was both challenging and rewarding and they all taught me so much in the time I spent with them, I adored this family like they were my own.
Active Kids Group has definitely influenced me in more ways than one as I have grown on so many levels being in a number of different positions along the way. I feel so blessed to be in this role as I believe it is the most rewarding career and every day is a new day filled with fun and laughter. Just today my 5 year old son made my day after his soccer game as he said ‘Mumma your such a beautiful mummy, you’re the best!’. Sharing these beautiful moments make me love doing what I do and will continue to follow my passion in early childhood.
