EARLY LEARNING
OUR ENRICHING CURRICULUM

Play-based learning, personalised for every child
Choosing an Active Beginning opens limitless possibilities for every child. Our enriching curriculum is grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) — Australia’s national framework for early childhood education. The EYLF’s vision is for all children to experience engaging, play-based learning that builds success for life. This sits at the heart of everything we do.
Our Educators cycle through observe → plan → act → reflect, adjusting experiences to keep learning responsive and engaging.

The Framework outlines three key attributes for childhood learning and development: Belonging, Being and Becoming.
1. Belonging recognises that children thrive when they feel deeply connected to family, culture, community and trusted educators—this sense of security is the foundation for all learning.
2. Being honours childhood in the present, valuing play, curiosity and everyday moments where children explore, express and make meaning.
3. Becoming captures the continuous growth of identity, knowledge and capabilities as children develop dispositions for learning, resilience and confidence for the future, including the transition to school.
This framework guides our planning, interactions and assessment so every child is seen, supported and inspired.
The Framework
We plan, assess and reflect using the EYLF outcomes, ensuring each child is supported to:
1. Have a strong sense of identity (belonging and confidence)
2. Connect with their world (community and culture)
3. Develop wellbeing (physical health and emotional regulation)
4. Become confident and involved learners (curiosity, persistence, problem-solving)
5. Be effective communicators (language, literacy and self-expression)
