Meet Sukanya

I began my career in Early Childhood Education with Active Kids Group in 2006 and have since held a variety of roles that have shaped my leadership journey. In 2012, I became Second in Charge at our Cremorne service while also assisting other centres in preparing for their assessment and rating. After returning to our city service later that year as a Toddler Room Leader, I progressed to Second in Charge in 2021 before proudly stepping into the role of Service Coordinator in 2023.

Over the years, I’ve built strong and lasting relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider community. As Coordinator, I focus on mentoring and supporting our dedicated team of educators, ensuring daily operations run smoothly while creating a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all families. I believe collaboration between educators, families, and the community is the key to unlocking every child’s potential, and my teaching philosophy is grounded in professionalism, positivity, and kindness — with the motto: “Be you and be someone that matters.”

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my large family, traveling and skiing with my husband, and keeping active through outdoor activities such as volleyball, biking, and camping. I also love reading, cooking, and connecting with family and friends. With a background as a professional Thai traditional dancer — including performing at the royal palace in Thailand — I bring creativity and cultural appreciation to all aspects of my life.

Vaucluse Cottage has been proudly serving the local community since 2012. Nestled in the scenic suburb of Vaucluse our service caters for children, from 8 weeks to 6 years of age, in a warm and welcoming environment.

Our team of highly qualified and passionate educators provide nurturing care and education, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Programs are designed to embrace each child’s emerging interests, knowledge, and abilities, inspiring a love of learning through play and exploration. A strong School Readiness focus ensures preschool children are well prepared for their transition to school, while life-readiness skills are supported from the very beginning.

Families benefit from inclusive fees, covering nutritious meals, milk, formula, nappies, wipes, and sunscreen. Strong family partnerships are at the heart of our philosophy — we work closely with families to create a child-focused curriculum that celebrates individuality, fosters belonging, and supports every child to thrive.
